Part of it is because I’m a nice lady, and the rest is because I’m stubborn and won’t let things go until they work properly.

The site I’ve been working on is, of course, Little Guardians, the latest brainchild of Ed Cho and Lee Cherolis. To celebrate both the launch of the comic and my amazing ability to not monumentally screw everything up, I’ve drawn their matronly character, Hazeldella. Even now I can picture her telling you to get that out of your mouth, you don’t know where it’s been, and sit up straight, won’t you, you’ll get your shirt all wrinkly, there’s a good boy.

If you’re an avid follower of my art-in-progress blog, you’ll have seen them already. If not, well… we’ll discuss that later.

Wallpaper girl was created 100% digitally, while Nips dude was penciled and inked on bristol and shaded digitally.

Lately I’ve been experimenting with photoshop brushes to see what can be done with them. While it’s pretty sweet, I’m unsure about my ability to translate digital painting dexterity into oil on canvas.
